"Why have an Attitude, When you can have Gratitude?"
Hello! My name is Yvette Smith, and I am the proud founder of Attitude of Gratitude Global. I started this grassroots Wellness group in 2015, after being inspired by divine leadership. I have a 25-year career in Allied Health. I am a College Graduate of East Los Angeles College with an A.S. in Health Information Management and Technology. I also hold a certification in Domestic Violence Advocacy acquired through Jenesse Center Inc. This is one of the most important roles I have and am most proud of next to being a mother of two and grandmother of five. My passion is also with my other gifts and talents such as creating entrepreneurial businesses, being an influencer, mentorship, event management and planning, red carpet and award show journalism, content creator, and fashion stylist. A few things about me are, I’m certainly a realist, I speak my mind respectfully, and I am loyal to a fault.
My life has had many ebbs and flows and if given the chance, I wouldn’t change a thing because it has shaped me to be the woman I am today. I have always possessed leadership qualities as a young girl who had to govern herself at a young age and navigate living bi-coastal between two parents. After my parents’ divorce, both became single parent homes, this way of living from Chicago to Los Angeles at any given time, developed my character to have a fearless approach to life! I didn’t know it as a child but I was in pursuit of my purpose at a very early age, always outgoing, trying new things, and never carrying if I fit in with the crowd or not, I always blazed my own trail.
When it came to my parents, I definitely had the provisions and love of both but not the love lessons from them. This lack had me mimic what I thought love was, which led me to being a teenage mom at the age of 19 and trying to figure out life. I had my second child at age 27. This relationship is where I lived a life of Domestic Violence from 1996 until 2003 when I ended the relationship. However, in 2003, despite having restraining orders, my brother and I were pursued and shot in front of my children by my daughters' father. It took many years of rebuilding my family and some years were more difficult than others. Like in 2009, I was so very broken and seeking ways to put the pieces back together for myself, my spirit, my soul, and my relationships. This meant I had to turn away from people for a while and seek my higher power, the Lord.
As I went through the process of a difficult couple of years (I like to call this the BUTTERFLY SEASON), I developed an overwhelming sense of Gratitude and appreciation for everyone and everything around me. The revelation I was given a new start gave me an awareness that was so profound and heightened that I could literally feel things changing in real time. My metamorphosis or transformation if you will, gave me such an intimate time with God, that when I got through to the other side, it was like I shredded my old skin as a butterfly sheds a cocoon, and entered into a new life and a new hope, seeing everything through new lenses. I was thankful and I was ready to be used as a vessel and share with anyone who would listen how awesome my transformation has been and how deep my Gratitude has developed for life and the Lord!
This good news was bubbling inside me! When I got the permission to loosen all I had experienced and learned, I wrote it out and just like that, a six-week curriculum was born! I found beautiful outdoor settings to have group meetings where we expressed our gratitude through sharing mantras, journaling, artistic expression, food, vision boards, fellowshipping, and wellness.
If you were to ask me what I want in life, I'd tell you, I want to leave my mark on this world by being a living testament of what turning your life around looks like while inspiring people to really believe that you can turn pain into passion, passion into purpose, and purpose into power, by having an attitude of gratitude, within you that will change your life and others.
Attitude of Gratitude Global is a wellness community that started in 2015 as an in person, Small Connect Group, with a committed eight in attendance and now they have grown to over 600+ members on a variety of social media platforms.
In addition to wellness, Attitude of Gratitude Global is also an inspiration, motivation, and affirmation community that believes in building you up not tearing you down.
Here you will also find an inclusive and diverse group of individuals from all creeds, culture, beliefs, color, race, religions, gender, and backgrounds. We have one thing in common that connects us all and that is, living gratefully is a lifestyle that we intentionally choose.
As we embark upon our mission to become global, by hosting community events, by sharing tips and tools to help individuals develop, practice, cultivate, and manifest gratitude into your daily lives and routines, it is our hope the experience will shape us into being better people who contribute to the goodness of this world.
Our VISION is bright as we actively set out to grow our community, state by state and globally with Attitude of Gratitude Global Chapters and membership. We give back to the neighborhoods we impact by creating annual Empowerment Community Events that serve the people in three areas, WELLNESS, HEALTH & WEALTH. You will also find us providing FREE online workshops throughout the year in the same areas of finance, self-care, and health.
Giving back and serving the community is a must which is why we help feed the less fortunate and we have a yearly backpack and school supply giveaway for grades K-12. We could not fulfill our destiny without our amazing sponsors, members, and supporters which have assisted us in opening doors to be invited into spaces our founder can be booked for such as speaking engagements at your next corporate, church, or ice breaker event.
For real time information, you can find us on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, where you can join and follow our pages, register for a workshop, or attend our annual in person event. We also have gratitude merchandise you can purchase and 100% of the profits are used to fund our events.
